Introduction: Wodify’s Two-Way SMS feature is perfect for seamless communication between you and your leads/clients! Admins, Managers, and Coaches can now directly text lead and clients' phone numbers from a newly created business number in Wodify Core, allowing you to quickly turn leads into clients and strengthen connections with current members. 

 

In this article, we will cover:

Receiving Permission from Leads and Clients:

To send an SMS message, you will need to be sure that your clients and leads check the following permissions checkbox. If you get consent from the client/lead to check on their behalf, this checkbox can be checked when:

  1. Creating a New Lead Profile
  2. Creating a New Client Profile

 

Clients can also provide consent when they fill out your waiver by checking the box below!

How to Enable Two-Way SMS:

To enable Two Way SMS, you will first need to set up a Number. To do this, follow the steps below:

  1. Communication > SMS (Beta) > Click + NUMBER
  2. You will be taken to a set up screen where you will need to add the following info. Click Create once you have everything set up!
    • Location:
      • The location you select will become the default location for any leads who text this new number. 
      • Having different numbers per location will allow you to keep your lead generation strategies separate and ensure that leads are talking to the correct coaches and admins. However, you do have the option leave this location box unselected. 
      • If you do assign a location to a number, people using that number will only be able to communicate with clients associated with that location. If a number is not assigned a location, it will be able to interact with all clients at all locations tied to your business.

    • Group Name: Name associated with the number; typically the location name
    • Employees: Determine who you want to have access to text from this number in Wodify. This is a great chance to include coaches or other staff members who will help with your client and lead reachout strategies.
    • Phone Number: This is a pre-generated list. Please select one of the numbers from the drop-down. Having a professional number that is different from your personal number is a great way to keep your personal and business lives separate!sms 1.png

Note: Phone numbers will need to be verified for the messages to be sent successfully. The verification process can take up to 2-3 weeks. 

 

How to Add an Additional Number:

If you have created your first number, you may need to create additional numbers for different locations or even different coaches/admins. 

  1. Click the Numbers tabsms 2.png
  2. Click + Group Numbersms 3.png
  3. Follow the standard number set up steps (these are also highlighted above!) and click Createsms 4.png

 

To Send a New Message:

Once your Number is generated, you will be able to send messages to clients and leads who have given you permission to text them!

  1. To send a New Message, click + Message in the top right-hand corner.

  1. Type in the Client or Lead Name and choose which number you want the message to be from. 
  2. Enter your message and click Send

Note: You can only send texts to lead/clients who have opted-in to receive texts, if they are indicated as ‘Not subscribed’ please get their permission to receive SMS and you can update the SMS TOLL-FREE setting in their lead/client profile 

Note: If less than 3 texts are sent per month your number may be deactivated by the servicer. 

 

 

 

Communicating with Leads and Clients via Coach View

You can now communicate with leads and clients directly within the Wodify app using two-way SMS while within Coach View. This allows for convenient on-the-go communication and faster response times.

 

To access SMS in Coach View:

  1. Go to Home > Coach View within the Wodify Client App.
  2. Tap the Message Icon at the top of the screen.
  3. Select SMS and type in the client you would like to send a message to.
  4. After typing in your message at the bottom of the screen, hit send.

 

Lead Best Practices

When someone who is not a current client with your business sends a text message to your predetermined SMS number, they will then be automatically generated as a lead.

We recommend creating social media or marketing campaigns highlighting your new number and encouraging potential new members to text it to receive more info about your business. 

 

Tip: Once enabled, you can publicly post you new business number on your social media, your website, and beyond to quickly attract leads and give current clients an easy way to reach you!

 

What is the difference between SMS and MMS?

SMS stands for Short Message Service, and MMS stands for Multimedia Messaging Service. Text-only messages of 160 characters are classified as SMS - A message with a higher character count or containing an image / video is MMS.

 

SMS Compliance:

Wodify's SMS Messaging feature requires compliance with the CTIA and wireless carriers' guidelines, to which all shortcodes are bound. These regulatory organizations can open an audit against anyone they find failing to comply.

According to the CTIA, you must always include the details below. We strongly recommend that you include the following details in your waiver to ensure your texts are compliant. 

  • "Message and data rates may apply"
  • "Message frequency will be periodic."
  • "Text STOP to unsubscribe" (STOP must be bolded)
  • "Text HELP for more info"
  • Link to Privacy Policy (http://www.wodify.com/privacy-policy)
  • Link to Terms & Conditions (http://www.wodify.com/terms)
