Step-By-Step How To

 

How to Create a Membership Discount

  1. Go to Financial > Settings > Discounts and Promo Codes 

  2. Click + DISCOUNT

  3. Name the discount and enter either the fixed value or the percentage that is to be discounted

  4. Click Save

 

How to Create a Promo Code

You can set up marketing promo codes that can utilized for retail items and memberships!

  1. Go to Financial > Settings > Discounts and Promo Codes

  2. Click + PROMO

  3. Enter the following information:

    • Name – Internal name for the promo code

    • Status – Promo codes are active by default; you can deactivate it if needed

    • Code – Enter a custom code or allow the system to generate one

    • Start Date – Date the promo becomes valid

    • Discount Type – Choose either:

      • Fixed dollar amount, or

      • Percentage discount

    • Optional Settings:

      • Expiration date

      • Maximum number of uses

  4. Hit Save

  5. Next, enable where you want the code to be eligible for use between the following categories:

    • Class Memberships

    • Appointment Memberships

    • Retail Products

  6. Click Choose Memberships or Choose Products

  7. Select the specific plans or items the promo code should apply to

  8. Click Save again to finalize the setup

 

How to Apply a Membership Discount or Promo Code

 

When Creating a Membership

  1. Locate the Client Profile and select + Membership
  2. You must select Custom in order to apply a discount to the new membership
  3. Follow the steps to create a membership and choose a payment plan
  4. Using either the Discount or Promo tab, you can apply one to any or all of the following:
    • Initial
    • Setup Fee
    • Renew
      • You can also mix-and-match these, applying multiple codes to the membership, and even stacking them for each option.

 

In the Online Sales Page

Anyone can type a promo code in during checkout if they already know it, or you can send a link or QR code with the promo code already applied.

  1. Go to Web & Mobile > Online Sales
  2. Click the name of the Membership you wish to share
  3. Select either the permalink or QR code icon beside the correct option
  4. Select a promo code from the dropdown menu, and Copy

 

At Self-Service Point of Sale & Buy tab

  1. Open the ellipsis menu (…)

  2. Select Promo code

  3. Enter code and click Save

 


 

 


 

FAQs

  1. "What are the differences between discounts and promo codes?"
    Answers: Discounts can only be applied in Core to memberships when you add a membership to a client profile. Promo codes can be applied the same on new memberships as well as on the Online Sales Page, Point of Sale, Self-Service, and Buy tab in the app. Promo codes can also be membership-specific and have an expiration date.
  2. "Wait, so a promo code can be applied to anything I sell?"
    Answer: Yes, but you can also choose to limit what it can be applied to!
  3. "Do I need to create a new discount code just to discount a single invoice?"
    Answer: Unpaid invoices can be discounted manually without a code. Open the invoice and either select "Apply Discount" from the Actions menu, or click a line item to discount that specifically.
