Pre-requisite Pro Tip
Before you invest in the Wodify Pulse Starter Package, make sure you:
Have Wodify Pulse enabled and configured for your business (including display setup, zones, and client connections).
Have reviewed our Getting Started with Wodify Pulse & Using Wodify Pulse (in-class) resources so you understand how clients will connect their belts, view data on-screen, and access post-workout summaries.
Once your environment is configured, you will be ready to plug in your new hardware and start running heart rate–enabled classes immediately.
Step-by-Step: Getting Started with the Wodify Pulse Starter Package
-
Review what’s included in the Starter Package
The Wodify Pulse Starter Package is $499 and includes all of the hardware necessary to get your business up and running with Wodify Pulse. It includes four Myzone heart rate belts, two of each model:(2) MZ-3 Belts – Wholesale: $60 each (suggested retail: $149)
(2) MZ-1 Belts – Wholesale: $30 each (suggested retail: $99)
Refer to the Starter Package image in this article for a visual of the included hardware.
-
Decide how you will use and price the belts
Determine if you will resell belts to your clients at the suggested retail price or use them as loaners for specific classes or programs.
Plan how you will position MZ-3 vs. MZ-1 (for example, MZ-3 for clients who want more data and flexibility, MZ-1 for in-gym only users).
-
Unbox and organize your equipment
Carefully unbox the Starter Package and label or separate the MZ-3 and MZ-1 belts, so staff can easily grab the correct model for each client.
Store belts in a central location at the front desk or coach’s station so they can be distributed before class.
-
Assign belts to clients
Follow your Wodify Pulse setup process to associate each Myzone belt with a client’s profile.
Make sure clients know which belt number is theirs and how to wear it correctly before class starts.
-
Educate clients on belt usage and app connectivity
Show clients how to wear the belt so it picks up accurate heart rate readings.
If they are using an MZ-3, have them download the Myzone app so they can view and store workout data on their phone, both in and out of your facility.
If they are using an MZ-1, confirm they understand that this belt is designed primarily for in-facility use and does not store offline workout data.
-
Run a test class
Schedule an internal or small pilot class to test the display, belt assignments, and data syncing.
Confirm that heart rate tiles are appearing on the screen, effort levels are updating in real time, and clients are able to view their results.
-
Launch heart rate–enabled classes to your community
Once testing is complete, promote your Wodify Pulse classes to your community.
Highlight benefits like gamification, Myzone Effort Points (MEPs), and post-workout summaries to drive adoption and belt sales.
Understand the Belt Types: MZ-3 vs. MZ-1
MZ-3 Belt
An award-winning physical activity belt in the Myzone product line.
-
Allows users to view their workout data:
On their smartphone via Bluetooth, and
On-screen in your Wodify Pulse–enabled facility via ANT+ technology.
Can store up to 16 hours of workout data. This means clients can work out outside of your facility or away from the Myzone app, and the belt will continue to store data until it syncs.
Connects to the Myzone app and supports integration with 3rd party apps.
MZ-1 Belt
A budget-friendly heart rate belt designed primarily for in-facility, class-based training.
Works inside Myzone-enabled clubs and with the Myzone app, and supports ANT+ technology and select 3rd party apps.
Does not store workout data offline. If the client is outside of receiver range (approximately 75 yards), their performance data will not be saved.
Standard battery life is approximately 3–6 months, depending on usage.
Use MZ-3 for clients who value flexibility and data outside your facility, and MZ-1 for clients who primarily train in your classes and want a lower-cost entry point into heart rate tracking.
FAQs
