As part of the Digital Student Experience, it’s important to enable employees to control what is displayed on TVs during class seamlessly from an iPad to enhance the class experience.
Employees can zoom in/out and scroll through the workout and related videos directly from an iPad using the Splashtop App*, while on the floor without needing to walk up to the computer.
*Splashtop is an application that enables you to quickly and easily remotely access your Mac or Windows PC from your tablet, smartphone, or another computer.

Hardware Required for Splashtop:

Installing Splashtop on a Computer
- Go to https://www.splashtop.com/personal/downloads and download the Splashtop Streamer link on the right for macOS or Windows
- Continue through the installer until it says download successful
- When you open the Splashtop Streamer app, you will need to make sure that these 4 settings are “allowed”
- Note: when you allow the permissions make sure to select “Later” rather than forcing a restart after enabling each setting so you can get through all setting quickly.

- Create your Splashtop account by clicking the “Create a Splashtop Account” link OR login to your existing Splashtop account if you have one.
- Under Settings install the sound driver. Once installed your screen should look something like this:
Installing Splashtop on an iPad
- In the App Store, download the Splashtop Personal iOS app
- Open the iPad app and login to your Splashtop Account that you created before when setting up the computer.
- You will be prompted with the option to 'Trust This Computer?'. Select 'Trust'
- Once you are logged in you should see the name of your computer(s) under devices because you are logged in with the same account.
- Click on the computer you want to remote control
- You will see a message that Splashtop would like to find and connect to devices on your local network. Click Allow.
- If you receive the error message 'This computer is not on the same network'. Please disregard. Click 'Not interested' and then reselect your computer from the list.
- Net, you will be taken through a Hints toolbar overview the first time. Scroll through the tutorial to get familiar with Splashtop navigation.
- Uncheck the “show hints” box so it does not keep popping up moving forward.
- Click Continue
Using Splashtop to control Kiosk+
Using splashtop on an iPad or tablet is a convenient way to make small changes to your Kiosk+ configuration during class without having to walk back to your computer. Here are some effective ways to use splashtop to control Kiosk+, for a demo video click here:
Scroll up and down through your Workout
- First, click on the center of the display to ensure your cursor is in the correct spot.
- Then, using two fingers slide up and down on the screen to scroll.
Zoom into a section of your Workout
- Click on the bottom of the screen to show the Kiosk+ zoom bar.
- Then, expand the keyboard using the bottom right keyboard icon.
- Tap on the left or right arrow keys to zoom in or out.
- Once you've reached your desired zoom. Close the keyboard.
Play a fullscreen video on Kiosk+
- Select the video title to show the video
- Then, double click on the video to open in full screen.
- To play or pause tap once on the center of the video.
- For youtube videos, hold down on the screen to "right click"
- From the menu select ‘Loop’ to continuously loop your video.
- If you get stuck on a video in full screen, open the keyboard and hit escape.
Note: We recommend spending some time practicing using the hand gestures as well as the other controls.
