Workout Components allow you to score, track, and measure client performance with precision—helping founders deliver structured programming and clients celebrate progress that fuels retention.
Pre-requisite Pro-Tip
Before building out complex programming, ensure you’re familiar with Scoring Against Workouts in Wodify Perform
Step-By-Step: Understand Workout Component Types
Listed below are all Workout Component types and their supported scoring options so you can build programming that aligns with your training goals.
Weightlifting Components
Measure – Log a weight value when clients complete the prescribed lift.
Max Reps – Track total reps performed for the set or lift.
Time (For Time)
Time scoring is used when the goal is to finish the workout as fast as possible. Perfect for classic “For Time” metcons.
Example: Complete 3 rounds as fast as possible.
AMRAP Options
AMRAP – Rounds
Clients record how many full rounds they completed.
If a client finishes 4.5 rounds, only 4 rounds are scored.
AMRAP – Reps
Record total reps across the entire timeframe.
Example: 4.5 rounds × 50 reps per round = 225 reps scored.
AMRAP – Rounds + Reps
Track both full rounds + remaining reps.
Example: 4.5 rounds = 4 rounds + 25 reps
Each Round Scoring Options
Used when you need to evaluate consistency, pacing, or progression across intervals.
Each Round for Reps
Clients enter reps achieved for each round or interval.
Each Round for Time
Clients record the time it took to complete each round.
Great when rest is built in and pacing is the goal.
Example: 5 rounds of work with 3 minutes rest between rounds.
Each Round for Weight
Record the weight used each round—ideal for progressive loading.
Each Round for Distance
Track distance accumulated in each interval.
Each Round for Calories
Record calories earned per round.
Weightlifting Totals
Total Weight – Sum of all weights lifted (e.g., total load volume).
Distance – Total distance accumulated.
Calories – Total calories achieved.
Weight – A single weight entry (e.g., max effort).
No Measure – When a component has no score requirement.
RX & RX+
RX = “As Prescribed”
RX+ = “More Than Prescribed”

FAQs
Why don’t Global Workouts include an RX+ option?
CrossFit HQ does not define RX+ for Benchmark workouts, and Wodify follows their standards to maintain consistency and accuracy.
Can I customize the names of RX and RX+?
Yes. Navigate to Account > Global Settings > Custom Dictionary to update terminology to match your brand voice.
How do I program a workout that uses multiple scoring types?
Create separate components for each scoring need within the same workout (e.g., one component for rounds, one for weight). This ensures clean tracking and accurate results.
