This article provides a quick start guide to the essential hardware required for configuring the Kiosk+ experience at your gym.

In this article, we will cover:

Hardware Checklist

High-Speed Internet - 100+ Download speed
TV(s) - minimum 40"
A TV mount to hang your TV(s)
Laptop or Tablet to Stream/Cast Kiosk+ to your TV
A wired or wireless way to connect your streaming device to your TV
(Examples: HDMI, AirParrot, Casting)

(Note: The recommended TV size is 65- 85 in, TVs under 40in are not recommended)

FAQ's

 

How do I test my internet speed?

Type “Internet Speed Test” into the Google search bar and run Google’s speed test.

 

I have slow internet or poor signal reach. What should I do?

If you have slow internet call your internet provider and ask to upgrade your plan.

If your internet speed is good but the signal drops in some areas try installing a wifi signal booster/bridge. We recommend the Eeros brand.

 

What size TV should I buy?

Minimum recommended size is 40".

 

Should I use a Laptop or Tablet to stream Kiosk+ to my TV?

We recommend a laptop over a tablet due to the full-screen display limitations of most tablets. The TV’s resolution can be altered to better display the tablet screen but typically you will be left with empty black space on the TV.

 

Should I connect my laptop and TV through a wired or wireless solution?

Your choice! It depends on how far your streaming device is from your TV, your budget, etc... Please read our Help Article “Kiosk+ Digital Student Experience - Choosing your Hardware” for more guidance.
