Why This Matters

Programming workouts ahead of time gives your clients a clear preview of what to expect in class, helps them bring the right gear, and puts new members at ease with embedded videos and helpful guidance. Plus, customizable settings let you add detailed coach notes, ensuring your morning classes run just as smoothly and consistently as your evening ones.

Pre-requisite Pro-Tip

You must have the Perform add-on to build workouts.

You will also want to make sure that you have all of your Programs created before building your first workout!

Step-By-Step How To

Adding a Workout Template

Before you can add details to your workout, you will need to add a workout template or format. To do so, you can navigate to:

  1. Perform > Daily Workouts > Create Workout OR click on the +Workout within the specific date
  2. Then you will need to enter the Program, Date, and Locations (if applicable), then click Create
  3. Once in the Workout Editor, you can now start to build out your workout, change the basic details, and add new workouts for additional days.
    •  You can edit the Name, Locations, Settings, and Add Notes for Coaches. If you want to add a long URL in the Coach Notes, you can enter the URL, and our system will automatically reformat the URL into a pretty link when you save the workout.
    • The Name will always populate with the title of the Program and the Date of the Workout by default, then you can back out the name and type your own. Next to it, you can copy or Delete the workouts by choosing one of the icons.
    • Settings: Will automatically be set to your default workout settings (Perform > Settings), any changes in the Workout Editor will only reflect for that specific Workout. If any changes are made, click Save.
    • Notes for Coaches: Please note that your clients will not be able to see any Notes for Coaches, only Admins, Managers, and Coaches.

Once you've created a new workout, you can copy or bulk copy it to a new date.

Pro Tip: this is great for when you build out your Template and want to use a similar format for all classes.

Adding Sections

These will break up the Workout into different Sections to help divide out your components.

  1. To add your own customizable Section Header, click the box Section Header then drag it to Workout on the Right
  2. Then you add the name under the Section Header Text and any comments you wish your Clients to view > Hit Save after entering the info

Adding Components

On the left side of the Workout Editor, you will see a Library of Components that you can drag into the Workout. These will default to a list of your most used Components based on the Program you are currently creating a Workout for.

  1. You can click on the box of your Components and then drag them to the Workout
  2. Here you can enter the Prefix, Rep Schemes, One-Time Comments, and Scoring
  3. After adding the details of the Component, hit Save > then move on to the next Component
    • You can drag the different Components to rearrange them in the Workout after each one is placed

Variable Reps & Sets

For custom weightlifting components, you can add variable sets and reps.

After you create and add the weightlifting component to a workout, you can click into the component and add sets + the number of reps for each set.

One-Time Exercise

You can also add a One-Time Exercise to the Workout by dragging it onto the builder. It will default to the name that you set in your Perform> Settings.

  • You can customize it like a regular component; it will just not save for future workouts.

At any point when building your Workout, you can select Preview to view how your Client will see the Workout in their Wodify App.

Editing a component with scores:

One-Time Workout Components that track results can be edited even after a client has signed in and submitted results for that workout.

This ensures that the results of a client earlier in the day can be compared to another client who performs the updated Workout during a different class later on.

In this article, you will find instructions and some best practices when making changes to a workout that has sign-ins and scores attached.

Sometimes, you may want to make changes to how a specific one-time component is being scored. If a client has already submitted results against a component, it is good to note that these results will be edited within the coachboard and leaderboard as well.

This can vary depending on the type of scoring being used in the component. Some examples include:

  • Rounds > Checkmark: If a score was submitted, the checkmark will automatically be applied.
  • Reps > Rounds: The number of reps will become the number of rounds.
  • No Measure > Weight: The score will be blank, allowing the client to go back and submit a result.

When any of these adjustments are made, a comment will appear within the client's results to indicate that this has been updated. This will show the previous score that was submitted, and explain what changes were made within the workout.

Deleting a component with scores:

When deleting a component with scores, you will be prompted to confirm the component deletion. Once this is confirmed, any submitted results will be deleted from Wodify.
