When you no longer plan to hold a class, you can cancel or delete single classes, groups of classes, or entire recurring series — and you can now automatically cancel classes that don’t meet a minimum reservation threshold.

Pre-requisite Pro-Tip

Pro-Tip: Only classes with no reservations or sign-ins can be deleted/canceled by default — if clients are booked, remove those reservations or notify clients before attempting to delete the class. If you want classes to auto-cancel when they are underbooked, enable Class Limit / Reservations when creating the class and set your minimum reservation threshold.

Step-By-Step How To

Delete or Cancel an Individual Class

  1. Go to Classes > List.

  2. Click the class you want to remove.

  3. Open the Actions dropdown and choose Cancel or Delete.

Notes

  • Cancel — the class stays on the schedule with a strike-through and cannot be registered for.

  • Delete — the class is fully removed from the schedule.

  • Only classes with no reservations or sign-ins (unless allowed by your auto-cancel rules) will be removed — otherwise you must first remove clients.

Delete or Cancel a Batch of Individual Classes

  1. Go to Classes > List.

  2. Use the checkboxes to select the classes you want to act on.

    • To select all rows on the current page, click the top checkbox.

    • After selecting all rows on the page, you’ll see an option to Select all classes across all pages — click that if you want every matching record.

  3. Click the three dots dropdown and choose Cancel or Delete for the selected classes.

Note: Classes that have reservations/sign-ins will not be canceled/deleted — you’ll need to remove those reservations first.

Delete a Recurring Class (entire series)

  1. Go to Classes > List.

  2. Click the recurring class you wish to delete.

  3. Click Actions > Delete Class (usually in the top-right).

Note: This removes all future instances generated by that recurring series. Any future classes that have reservations or sign-ins will not be deleted — you must manually remove clients from those instances.

Auto-Cancel Classes With Low Reservations (new)

You can configure a class to automatically cancel if it does not meet a minimum number of reservations.

  1. When creating a class (recurring or one-time), toggle on Class Limit / Reservations.

  2. Set the minimum reservations required for the class to remain.

  3. Set the time window (hours or minutes prior to class start) for the system to check and auto-cancel if the reservation count is below the minimum.

  4. Save the class.

Behavior

  • At the configured lead time before class start, the system checks reservations.

  • If the number of reservations is less than your minimum, the class will be automatically canceled.

  • This replaces the previous option that only auto-canceled classes with no reservations — now you can require a higher threshold.

Tip: Communicate auto-cancel rules to members and staff so everyone knows when a class may be removed automatically.

FAQs

  1. "What’s the difference between Cancel and Delete?"
Answer: Cancel keeps the class on the schedule with a strike-through (it cannot be booked). Delete removes the class entirely from the schedule.

  2. "I can’t delete a class — why?"
Answer: Only classes with no reservations or sign-ins (or that meet your auto-cancel rule) can be deleted. If a class has bookings you’ll need to remove those reservations first (or ask staff to do so) before deletion.

  3. "How do I remove bookings from my classes before deleting them?"
Answer: Remove reservations per class from the class detail (or use your People/Clients tools or bulk actions if available). After the reservations are cleared, retry cancel/delete or reselect the group of classes to perform the action.

  4. "Will auto-cancel notify members or staff?"
Answer: Check your notification settings and staff/processes — best practice is to inform members when a class is canceled automatically. If you want notifications, confirm your business’s class cancellation notification rules or set up a standard messaging process.

  5. "Are there any extra steps I must take if a ClassPass member is reserved into a class that gets canceled?"
Answer: No. When you cancel a class that has ClassPass bookings, ClassPass users are automatically notified and their credits are returned.
