Why This Matters

Device History gives you a detailed log of all activity associated with your smart devices — so you always know who accessed a device, when, where, and how. Whether you're keeping tabs on daily usage or investigating an unexpected event, Device History puts the full picture at your fingertips. Device history gives you peace of mind, starting with visibility. Device History was built so you never have to wonder what happened with your device. With a clear, timestamped log of every access event, you can:

  • Confirm that the right people are accessing your device at the right times
  • Spot unusual or unexpected activity quickly
  • Review a complete record of access in case of a security concern
  • Understand how your device is being used over time (via access code, smart button, etc.)

Pre-requisite Pro-Tip

Before you can use Device History, make sure the following are in place:

  • 24/7 Access add-on must be active on your account
  • The person viewing Device History must have an Admin role
  • If you're unsure about your plan or role, contact your account administrator or reach out to our support team.

NOTE: Device History is powered by our Wodify Workflows Automations. All unlock events have to flow through our automations before they will appear on the table. If you have questions, do not hesitate to reach out to our business success team.

FAQs

  1. I have the 24/7 Access add-on but I don't see the Device History tab. What should I check? A: Make sure you are logged in with an Admin role. Device History is only visible to Admins.
  2. What does "Door Unlock Failed" mean? A: A "Door Unlock Failed" event means someone attempted to access the device but the unlock was unsuccessful. This could be due to a connectivity issue or a device error. If an access code is entered incorrectly, the error will typically display access denied instead.

Real-World Use Cases

  • Monitoring facility access — You want to confirm what time a staff member arrived and whether they used the app or an access code to enter.
  • Investigating a failed access attempt — You see a "Door Unlock Failed" event and use Device History to identify who attempted access, when, and how.
  • Auditing access  - Equipment was damaged in the facility overnight. After using your cameras to identify the time of the accident, cross-reference access events to identify the perpetrator
