Why this matters
Summer camps are a high-revenue seasonal offering, but they require a slightly different setup than your regular class schedule. By creating a dedicated Summer Camp program with one-time classes, you can manage registrations cleanly, share a direct sign-up link with campers and parents, and keep camp attendance separate from your recurring membership data. If your camp runs in phases — like an AM session and a PM session — Wodify gives you the flexibility to structure those as distinct classes so attendees can register for one or both.
Prerequisite Pro Tip
Before setting up your summer camp, make sure you understand how Programs work in Wodify. Your Summer Camp program will need to exist before you can add classes to it. See: Manage Programs
Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Create a Summer Camp program
- Navigate to Classes > Programs.
- Click Add Program.
- Name the program (e.g., Summer Camp).
-
Complete any required fields and click Save.
Step 2: Add one-time classes to your program
- Navigate to Classes > List.
- Click Add Class.
- Set the class type to One-Time Class.
- In the Program field, select Summer Camp.
- Enter the date, time, capacity, and any other relevant details.
- Click Save.
-
Repeat for each camp day or session.
Step 3 (optional): Set up AM and PM sessions as separate classes
If your camp runs in phases — for example, an AM Camp and a PM Camp — create two distinct classes under the same Summer Camp program: one for each session. Name them clearly (e.g., Summer Camp — AM Session and Summer Camp — PM Session). Campers attending the full day will register for both.
Step 4: Share the drop-in permalink
- Open any class you created for the camp.
- Locate the Drop-In Permalink on the class details page.
- Copy the link and share it on your website, social media, or in emails to promote sign-ups.
- Parents and campers can use this link to register directly without needing a membership.
Step 5: Create memberships for full-day attendees (optional)
If you want to sell a packaged full-day experience, create a 1-week Class Plan that grants access to your Summer Camp program. This allows full-day campers to register for both the AM and PM sessions under one membership purchase.
- Navigate to Classes > Memberships.
- Click Add Membership and select Class Plan.
- Set the duration to 1 week.
- Assign access to the Summer Camp program.
- Name it clearly (e.g., Summer Camp Full Day — 1 Week) and click Save.
FAQs
"Do campers need a Wodify membership to sign up through the drop-in permalink?"
No. The drop-in permalink allows anyone to register for a one-time class without an active membership. It's designed for exactly this kind of open, event-style registration.
"How do I handle campers attending both AM and PM sessions?"
Create a 1-week Class Plan membership that covers your Summer Camp program. Full-day campers can purchase this membership and use it to register for both the AM and PM classes. Alternatively, they can register through each session's drop-in permalink individually.
"Can I use recurring classes instead of one-time classes for camp?"
You can, but one-time classes give you more control over each individual camp day — including capacity, specific dates, and individual permalinks. For a defined-duration camp with specific start and end dates, one-time classes are the recommended approach.
