Step-By-Step How To

How to Edit a Custom Form

⚠️ Important — don't change the Form Title. If Wodify workflows are connected to your form (for lead routing, email automations, or pipeline triggers), the Form Title is what triggers them. Renaming it breaks the connection: the form still collects submissions, but your workflows won't run. Editing or removing fields a workflow references can also stop data from flowing correctly. After any edit to a connected form, test a submission yourself and confirm the workflow runs as expected. If it doesn't, email support@wodify.com and our team can help.

  1. Navigate to the page with the form you want to edit using the page menu in the top left of the site editor.
  2. Click on the form. An editing panel will appear on the side of the editor where you can update the form’s settings and content. From this panel you can:
    • Edit field labels (e.g. change “Name” to “Full Name”)
    • Add or remove fields (e.g. add a phone number field, remove an unused field)
    • Change required fields (toggle which fields visitors are required to fill in)
    • Update button text and styling (e.g. change “Submit” to “Get Started”)
    • Change where submissions go (update the email address that receives form submissions)
    • Update the success message (the message visitors see after they submit the form)
  3. Make your changes in the editing panel. Changes save automatically as you work.
  4. Click Republish at the top of the editor to send your changes live.
  5. If your form is connected to a Wodify workflow, test a submission yourself and confirm the workflow runs as expected. If anything looks off, contact support@wodify.com and our team will help.

How to Edit a Wodify Lead Form

Wodify Lead Forms are installed on your website as embed code that connects directly to your Wodify Core account for lead capture and pipeline management. To update one, you’ll generate a new form in Core with the fields you want, then swap the embed code on your site.

Step 1: Generate the new form code in Core

  1. In Wodify Core, navigate to People > Settings > Lead.
  2. Configure the form with the fields you want.
  3. Generate the HTML code for the form and copy it.

Step 2: Replace the embed code on your site

  1. In the website editor, navigate to the page where the Wodify Lead Form lives.
  2. Click on the form — the HTML widget editing options should open. (If clicking the form does nothing or shows “This content cannot be edited,” the HTML widget is locked from editing on your site. Contact support@wodify.com and our Sites team will swap the code for you.)
  3. Select all the code in the HTML widget, delete it, then paste the new HTML code from Core into the widget. Click Update.
  4. Click Republish at the top of the editor to send your changes live.
  5. Test a submission yourself to confirm the form is capturing leads in Core as expected, and that any connected workflows are firing correctly. If anything looks off, contact support@wodify.com and our team will help.

FAQs

  1. "Will editing my form on my Wodify Site break my lead routing?"
Answer: The biggest risk to changing a form on your Wodify Site is changing the Form Title (Custom Forms), as that’s what triggers your Wodify workflows to fire, so renaming it will stop workflows from running. Renaming or removing fields that a workflow specifically references can also cause data to stop flowing correctly. After any edits to a form connected to a workflow, test a submission yourself and confirm the workflow runs as expected. If anything’s off, contact support@wodify.com, and we’ll help.
  2. "How do I know if a form on my Wodify Site is a Custom Form or a Wodify Lead Form?"
Answer: To edit a form, first click on it in the website editor to identify which type it is:
    • An editing panel with form fields appears → It's a Custom Form. You can edit it directly in the panel.
    • HTML widget editing options appear → It's a Wodify Lead Form. To update it, generate new code in Core and swap it in.
    • Nothing happens, or you see "This content cannot be edited" → The form is locked, and the Sites team will need to help.
  3. "Can I change the email address that receives form submissions from my Wodify Site?"
Answer: Yes, you can change the email address that receives form submissions from your Wodify Site. For Custom forms — click on the form, find the submission recipient or notification email field in the editing panel, and update it. Don’t forget to Republish after saving. For Wodify Lead Forms, this is controlled at the Core level — update your lead notification settings in Core, then regenerate and swap the form code as described above.
