Why This Matters

Updating your images on your website ensures that your website stays up-to-date and reflects how you like it. Keeping your website's visuals fresh and relevant is essential for maintaining a professional online presence.

This guide walks you through the steps to upload and replace images on your site, ensuring your visitors always see the most up-to-date content.

Pre-Requisite Pro-Tip

Your website may have a variety of image types. To figure out which type of image you want to edit, simply click on the image you want to edit, then select a path below based on what you see:

  1. If nothing happens when you click on the image, you will be editing a Background Image. Follow the directions in “How to Update Background Images” below.
  2. If a small editing window appears and it’s a single image, you will be editing an Image Widget. Follow the directions in “How to Update Image Widgets” below.
  3. If you’re clicking on an image that’s part of a photo gallery or programs grid proceed to the “Updating Images in Photo Galleries” section below.
  4. If you see a message that says "This content cannot be edited. Contact your administrator," you will need to make updates from a connected Collection. See the article on editing program pages or editing coach bios for details on editing collections.
  5. The one other exception with images is your logo. If you want to update your logo, proceed to the “Updating Your Logo Image” section below.

Step-by-Step Guide

How to Update Background Images

  1. On the sidebar of the website editor, click CMS > Business Data > Business Images.
  2. Find the image you want to replace. Images should be labeled according to where they appear on the website.
  3. Click Replace

  5. Click Republish at the top of the website editor screen to send your changes live.

Note: Not all sites use the Business Images setup, depending on when your Wodify Site was built. If you cannot find the image you’re looking for in CMS > Business Data > Business Images, contact support@wodify.com and include the images you’d like to update, and our Sites team will help.

How to Update Image Widgets

  1. Click directly on the image you want to update. You will make edits in the smaller editing window that appears.
  2. Click Replace under the image.
  3. From the Image Picker, you may select an image that already exists in your media library, or click Upload Images to add a new image. Click Done once your desired image has been selected.
  4. Click Republish at the top of the website editor screen to send your changes live.

How to Update Images in Photo Galleries

Some widgets — like photo galleries or grid-style content (for example, a programs grid that displays a card for each program) — have their own images on each card or item. Depending on how that widget is set up, the images may be editable directly within the widget, or they may be connected to a Collection and need to be updated within the Collection instead.

  1. Click directly on the gallery widget and a widget editor pop-up will appear. Try to select an individual item in the widget editor (the specific card or image you want to update).
  2. A side-editor will appear to edit the specific image details if it is a static photo gallery (as shown in the image below), and you can make the edits directly from the pop-up itself.
  3. If the image is grayed out and can't be clicked, it's connected to a Collection (commonly Programs or Coaches/Employees — the on-page context of the content should make it pretty obvious which one). To update the image, you'll need to edit it through the relevant Collection. See the article on editing program pages or editing coach bios for instructions on editing the image through the Collection.
  4. Click Republish when done.

Pro Tip: When images are connected to a collection, updating them in the collection will refresh every card or widget on your site that pulls from that collection — keeping your imagery consistent across the site.

How to Update Your Logo Image

Your logo is connected to your Wodify Site’s Business Info data, which means it’s shared across multiple pages of your website (typically in the header and footer). To update it, you’ll replace the logo file in one place, and the change will apply everywhere it appears.

  1. From the left side navigation of the website editor, click CMS > Business Data > Business Info.
  2. Locate the Logo field.
  3. Click Replace to open the Image Picker. You may select an image that already exists in your media library, or click Upload Images to add a new one. Click Done once your desired logo has been selected.
  4. Click Republish at the top of the website editor screen to send your changes live across every page on your site that displays the logo.

Pro Tip: Because your logo is connected to Business Info, the update will apply everywhere on your site that uses it, keeping your branding consistent across the site automatically. If you don't see it updated, please contact support@wodify.com for assistance.

FAQs

  1. "Why does my new image looks blurry or low-quality on the live site?"
Answer: An image can look blurry or low-quality when the source image is smaller than the space it’s being displayed in. For best results, upload images at their actual display size or larger — we recommend a minimum of 1920px wide for full-width background images and at least the size of the area for image widgets. Avoid stretching small images, as they’ll appear pixelated.
  2. "How do I delete an old image from my media library?"
Answer:From the Image Picker, locate the image you want to remove and use the delete option that appears on hover or in the image's options menu. Note that any image actively in use on your site cannot be deleted until it's replaced, otherwise the image may be removed from the site. If you run into issues, reach out to support@wodify.com and our team can help.
  3. "What file types and sizes work best?"
Answer: We recommend JPG or PNG for most images on your Wodify Site, and WebP if you have it available (smaller file size, faster load times). Try to keep individual image files under 1MB where possible — large files slow down your site’s load time.
