Offering remote programming allows you to keep clients engaged from anywhere, create flexible training options, and unlock a new revenue stream without adding more in-person class times
Pre-requisite Pro-Tip
Before you set up Remote (at-home) workouts, make sure:
You have Membership Enforcement enabled if you plan to use Secure Programming for your remote program. (Secure Programming requires Membership Enforcement.)
Your team is familiar with Creating Programs, Creating Memberships, and Creating Classes in Wodify.
Step-By-Step How To
Create (or repurpose) your Remote program
Go to Classes > Programs.
Click + New Program.
Enter a clear program name (for example: Remote, At-Home, or Online Programming).
-
Enable your preferred Program Settings:
Publish externally – Turn this on if you want to publish workouts to WordPress or other connected blogs.
-
Secure programming – Turn this on if you want to hide workouts from clients whose memberships do not include this program.
Remember: Membership Enforcement must be enabled to use Secure Programming.
Count towards attendance limits – Turn this on if you want remote classes to count toward clients’ attendance limits.
Click Save.
To repurpose an existing program instead:
Go to Classes > Programs.
Click into the program you want to use for remote workouts.
Rename the program (for example, change CrossFit to Remote CrossFit or simply Remote).
Review and update the program settings listed above.
Click Save.
Note: Renaming an existing program will update that program’s name everywhere it’s used (classes, memberships, default programs, etc.). Make sure this aligns with how you want to represent your remote offering.
Add your Remote program to memberships
You’ll need to give clients Program Access to your Remote program through their membership. You can either create a brand-new membership or bulk add the program to an existing one.
Option A: Create a new Remote membership
Go to Classes > Memberships.
Click + New Membership.
-
Configure your membership details (name, billing, term, etc.).
Consider using a clear name like Remote Only, Hybrid (In-Person + Remote), or Online Programming.
In the Program Access section, enable your Remote Program.
Review the remaining settings (attendance limits, contract settings, etc.).
Click Save.
Assign this membership to any clients who should have access to your Remote workouts.
Option B: Bulk add the Remote program to an existing membership
If you want current clients to keep their existing membership but gain access to Remote programming:
Go to Classes > Memberships.
Open the membership template you want to update.
Add your Remote Program under Program Access.
Use the bulk / mass update option (per your “mass add program to an existing membership” help article) to apply this change to all clients on that membership.
Click Save.
Create a recurring Remote class
Clients need to sign into a class for the Remote program in order to log and track their performance.
Go to Classes > List.
Click + New Class.
Select Recurring/Repeating.
In the Program field, select your Remote Program.
-
Complete the remaining class details (name, coach, schedule, location, capacity, etc.).
Many gyms name these something like Remote – Daily WOD, At-Home Workout, or Online Programming to make it clear in the schedule.
Click Save.
Need more guidance? Refer to your Creating Classes help article for a deeper breakdown of each class setting.
Enable mobile sign-in for at-home workouts
To allow clients to sign into Remote classes from their phone or the web:
Go to Classes > Settings > Basic Details.
Under sign-in options, enable Clients can sign themselves into class using the client app or on the web.
Click Save.
This ensures remote clients can sign into class, view the workout, and log their results from anywhere.

FAQs
1. Do I need a separate program for Remote, or can I reuse an existing one?
You can do either. Many gyms create a dedicated Remote program for clarity in reporting and scheduling. However, you can also repurpose an existing program by renaming it and updating its settings. Just remember that renaming will affect how that program appears in all existing classes, memberships, and reports.
2. Will Remote classes count toward a client’s attendance limit?
Remote classes count toward a client’s attendance limit only if the associated program / class has Count towards attendance limits enabled. If you want Remote access to be “unlimited” without affecting in-gym attendance caps, leave this setting disabled for the Remote program.
3. Do clients need a membership to see and log Remote workouts?
If Membership Enforcement is enabled, then clients must:
Have an active membership that includes Program Access to your Remote program, and
Sign into a Remote class to view the workout and log results.
If Secure Programming is enabled, only clients with valid program access and an active membership will see those workouts.
