This article will walk you through Wodify's integration with Zapier, an automated tool that allows admins to take back control of repetitive tasks.
In this article we will cover:
Zapier Terminology
Zap: A link between the two apps you connected on Zapier. Consider it automation for a repetitive task. When creating a Zap, you must first choose a trigger. After choosing a trigger, add at least one action. Now, you’re ready to turn your Zap on!
App: An application or web service — like Google Docs, Slack, or Infusionsoft software. Zapier offers integrations with more than 750 apps.
Task: A single action performed by Zapier. One Zap can perform multiple tasks.
Trigger: A Trigger is an event that initiates the Zap.
Action: An Action is an event that the Zap performs.
Creating a Zap
Note: Wodify Zapier Integration for Leads requires the Promote Subscription Tier.
Zapier Help Video:
Getting Started:
- Create a free Zapier account at Zapier.com.
- Click the Make a Zap button from your Zapier dashboard to go to the Zap editor.
Setting Up a Trigger:
The steps below will guide you in setting up your Trigger, which is the event that initiates the Zap.
- First, choose the App that will initiate the Trigger.
- Then, select the Trigger.
- Next, you’ll connect to your Trigger App by choosing it from your list of connected accounts or choosing Connect an Account.
- To connect to your Wodify account, you’ll need to enter your API Key. To access your API Key in Wodify, go to Digital Presence > Web Integrations > API Keys and create an API key by giving it a name and clicking on the checkmark.
- Copy and paste the newly generated API Key into Zapier and click Continue.
- Now that your Wodify Account has been added, click Save and Continue.
Triggers have different options and the ability to customize:
-
When using Wodify Core as your Trigger, you’ll have to select if you’d like the Trigger to activate when:
- A “New” lead or client is added
- A lead or client is “Updated”
- Both
- Click Continue
- Zapier will perform a test with your Wodify trigger by retrieving a “new” lead from your Wodify Core environment.
- Click Continue
Setting Up Actions:
- Choose the Action app, which is the app where the action will take place.
- Choose the Action, which is the specific action for that app.
- Choose the account or Connect an Account.
- Save and Continue.
Action Templates:
In this step, you’ll find various mandatory and optional fields. Clicking into a field will provide you with a list of options you can use to populate your template to use with your trigger. This is critical to ensure your Zap performs as intended.
- Only the (Required) fields need to be filled out
- Keep in mind that any text (in contrast to data) you insert manually will be static e.g.) having your subject line be "Welcome!"
- Not all ZAP combinations will make sense, but feel free to play around with it!
- Note: Test the Zap before turning it on
